Speed Control Update For AWSA Nationals

The three manufacturers qualified to pull the regional and national championships have designated a speed control system. The designations are as follows: MasterCraft, ZO; Correct Craft, ZO; Malibu, PPSG. The AWSA board is considering a proposal that would allow the skier a choice between GPS speed control systems if the boat has multiple options. We will keep you apprised of the board’s action.

June Athletes Of The Month Selected

USA Water Ski has selected Zack Worden of Deltona, Fla., and Caroline Hensley of Hixson, Tenn., as its Male and Female Athletes of the Month, respectively, for June. Worden and Hensley are now eligible for the United States Olympic Committee’s Athlete of the Month honors.

Beauchesne Wins Title At Pro Tour Event

U.S. water ski athlete Jamie Beauchesne won the men's slalom title Sunday at the fourth stop of the 2008 MasterCraft Pro Water Ski Tour at Lymanland in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The event, presented by Rambo Marine, featured men's and women's slalom as well as men's jumping.

5 U.S. Athletes Win Junior U.S. Open Titles

Five U.S. water ski athletes won titles in respective events at the eighth annual Correct Craft Junior U.S. Open Water Ski Championships, June 21-22, at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio.

Malibu Open Set For July 18-20

Malibu Boats, a premier sponsor of USA Water Ski, will host the 10th Malibu Open Water Ski & Wakeboard Championships, July 18-20, in White Lake, Mich. The event will be held in conjunction with the ninth annual Quake on the Lake APBA Inboard Hydroplane Races.
